ABOUT POLLY

In the words of Anthony Bourdain – “Travel is not a reward for working, it’s an education for living.”

I began living my life with that mindset when I stepped out on my first solo adventure at the age of 19 and I never looked back. Travel isn’t just something I “do” or something I will “finish”, it is ingrained in my everyday life, my personality, my soul; it informs my friendships, my aesthetic taste, my mindset, the way I see the world…and I am forever grateful for being so truly in love with what it has given me.

Along the way, I’ve met inspiring individuals, immersed myself in fascinating cultures, and pushed myself far beyond my comfort zone, which has all contributed to the woman I am today. Every trip is a lesson, every destination a new perspective.

I am obsessed with the ocean. Diving is a huge part of my travels and has informed a lot of my destinations over the years. From my young years as an aspiring marine biologist and growing up on boats, to working on the Great Barrier Reef for 2 years in my early 20’s and finding a passion for free-diving. The ocean is where I feel most at home.

I am equally as obsessed with rich cultures, experiencing the way people live that is a far cry from my own every day life. India was a childhood fascination that became a country I travelled in depth and will be ingrained in me. From shipwreck diving through the Philippines to mountain biking in Colombia, trekking through the Atlas Mountains to horse riding in Mexico, every country has its own story that I have always loved to tell.

For me, travel isn’t about escaping life for a few weeks and switching off; in fact, it’s when I truly ‘switch on’ – it’s about weaving adventure into everyday existence. It’s about shaping a life that’s rich with experiences, not just plans. So, if you’re here, you probably feel the same way.

“One life. Just one. Why aren’t we running – like we are on fire – towards our wildest dreams?”
